ABOUT US

Tynedale Talking Newspaper (TTN)  is a small charity with an income from fund raising. Founded in 1982, it is run by 60 volunteers working on an 8 week recording rota. Each week the Hexham Courant is recorded  and sent to about 80 blind and partially sighted listeners in Tynedale. We also produce an audio magazine three times a year featuring items of local interest. These recordings were originally distributed on cassette tape but in October 2011 we launched our digital service. All recordings are now distributed in MP3 format on memory sticks. Listeners may play these recordings either on their own computer or on a special player which we can provide on free loan.  This modernisation project became possible because of the generosity of local people and organisations.  If you know of anyone who would like to receive TTN programmes please contact Ed Turnbull on 01434 607264.

If they are not registered a signature is required on the application form from the listener’s GP or Optician.
